Perspectives of Iceland
overlook
24x18 // 625.00
Along many of the Icelandic coastlines there are amazing giant rock formations that are several stories tall and provide ledges for ravens and other seabirds to watch over the water. It's often said that if you look closely you can see the Huldufolk, or hidden people, hiding among the nooks and crannies.
home sweet home

Along with the abundance of waterfalls in Iceland is the vast number of slow moving creeks, tumultuous waterways and crashing rivers.
Heavy Stones
12x12 // 325.00
Reykjavik is known for it's street art, and just a few blocks away from our hotel was a stunning giant mural titled "Heavy Stones Fear No Weather" by WES21 x ONUR. Seeing the mural on my first day in Iceland set the stage for the entire trip, and inspired this painting.
An introvert’s paradise
12x12 // 325.00
Everywhere we traveled, over land or by boat, we saw little cottages dotting the countryside; sometimes so remote that we couldn't help but wonder what life would be like when it would be a major travel event just to stock up on the basics.
Backyard waterfall
12x12 // 325.00
So many of the homes we saw across the countryside had truly stunning backdrops. Imagine cliffs and a waterfall like this at your home; now that's a real "water feature"
Peaceful Isolation
16x20 // 390.00
The sheer isolation of many of the homes scattered across the country was a real contrast to how those of us on our trip live in our towns and cities. This painting was inspired by photos taken on Vigur Island.
Commumity
16x20 // 390.00
Vigur Island is in the Westfjords, and known for it's puffin colonies and arctic terns. At first glance you notice the crowds of puffins resting on the rocks, but you can almost miss the tiny dots all over the water surrounding the area, which turned out to be evem more puffins swimming and eating fish.
Quiet Canyon Lake
24x18 // SOLD
At the end of a pathway through birch trees in Asbyrgi Canyon, there is a quiet lake nestled at the base of the cliffs. It was so quiet, with even the few solitary ducks barely making a sound; it felt like we had stepped into a pocket of another world.
Patience
24x30 // 1400.00
The guesthouse in Modrudalur was surrounded by, and partially made of, sod and bales of hay.
At one point we saw the family dogs sitting patiently waiting atop the bales, where they could peer into the windows to observe what was going on inside the house as well as be on the lookout for the return of their owners, and dinner which was sure to come!
